A Google+ Community is a place to meet and engage with people on topics youre interested in. If you had trouble finding engagement on Google+ in the past, its time to take a second look and check out active communities on topics you care about. You can create public communities and private communities.
Joining a Google+ Community Google+ communities are places for people to get together and talk about the interests that they share. Hover over the top left of Google+ to open Google+ main navigation. Click on the Communities icon on the left-hand side of Google+ Look through the recommended communities.
What happened Google+ communities?
On April 2, 2019 we are shutting down the consumer (personal) version of Google+, a social network by Google. If you want, you can download and save your Google+ data; this may take time so get started before March 31, 2019. You can delete your Google+ account before the consumer Google+ shutdown.
Public Google+ Communities provide a way to connect with people who share your interests. These communities can scale to support thousands of members. For example, theres a Community of more than 6,700 Chromebook fans talking about all aspects of various Chromebooks.
Log in to your Google+ account and mouse-over the Home menu to reveal the Communties menu item and click it (or go to https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities directly). In the upper right corner, click on the blue CREATE COMMUNITY button. Decide if this is going to be a Public or Private community.
Join a CommunityOn your Android phone or tablet, open the Currents app .Search on a topic of interest to you.To view a Community before you join, tap the Community.Once you find a Community you want to join, tap Join. If you need permission to join a Community, it will say Ask to join instead.

What is current app by Google?
Google on Monday, 6 July, officially rebranded Google+ as Google Currents. The latest version of the app is now available for Android and iOS customers, and aligns to the Google Material Theme Design.
